This privacy notice tells you about the information we collect from you when you request gated contents of the website, sign up for our newsletter, apply for a job, or purchase one or more of our products via our website. In collecting this information, we are acting as a data controller and, by law, we are required to provide you with information about us, about why and how we use your data, and about the rights you have over your data.
Who are we?
BiognoSYS AG is an established leader in next-generation proteomics. We operate one of the largest proteomics facilities worldwide and make the most advanced proteomics solutions available to life science researchers across industry and academia. What personal data do we collect?
If you sign up for marketing related information, we collect your name, professional background, phone number, your topic of interest, and email address in order to send you Biognosys’ newsletter tailored to your interest.
If you purchase a product from the Biognosys website, we collect your name, address, telephone number, company affiliation, email address, delivery/invoicing address, and, if relevant, your professional background. A third-party data controller processes and stores your credit card information. Biognosys is not privy to that information.
If you apply for a job at Biognosys, we will delete the information related to unsuccessful candidates three (3) months after a post is filled, unless indicated otherwise by the candidate.
Why do we collect this information?
We will use your information to verify your credit card details for your purchase, process your order and to send you your goods. We will also send you a receipt via email and we may use your telephone number to contact you regarding your delivery. We also use the information that we have collected to also provide you with support services on our products and to reach out to you on further products that may be relevant or interesting for you.
If you have subscribed to our newsletter, then we will use your data to send you the latest company and product information, per your request.
What do we do with your information?
Your information is stored in our order processing system in compliance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection of June 19, 1992, as amended or, to the extent applicable, with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016, EU Directives 95/46/EC, 2002/58/EC and 2009/136/EC, as amended.
As a Controller, we collect your name, e-mail, and professional background information when you purchase a product from us. Your credit card details are passed to a third-party payment processor, and we do not have access to the full credit card or payment information. If you create an account with us, then we retain your information in order to send you relevant information.
The following data types are collected and processed within the execution of the contract:
1. Contact data: name, e-mail, shipping address, telephone number, etc.
2. Billing data: credit card details, billing address, etc.
You can only obtain access to your user account via internet using a password that you have selected in compliance with our password policy. Your password is not visible to Biognosys’ customer service and may not serve as identification in the event of telephone enquiries.
We do not use the information you provide to make any automated decisions that might affect you.
How long do we keep your information for?
Unless you create an account with us, we keep your order information for 5 years. Your personal information associated with the order will then be removed.
How to withdraw your consent?
If you do not wish to receive our newsletter anymore or further information about our products and services, you can withdraw the consent you are giving at any time. You can do this by writing to us at the above address or email or by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of emails you receive.
Your rights over your information
By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. Please use the Data Subject Request Form to submit your requests to us.
You can also ask us to give you a copy of the information and to stop using your information for a period if you believe we are not doing so lawfully.
