We have been using machine learning (ML) at Biognosys for the analysis of proteomics data since the foundation in 2008 with great success and have also a number of publications in that area. Few years ago it became clear that deep learning is very suitable for numerable tasks in proteomics. We started to apply deep learning at Biognosys in 2018 and are proud that already in 2019 our commercial flagship software Spectronaut was released making use of a modern deep neural network in the background. In recent years the number of deep learning publications in proteomics has rapidly increased and in parallel it became clear that the number of applications of deep learning in proteomics are vast. You’ll be responsible to perform research and development of ML models for various applications in proteomics. You’ll collaborate internally with the bioinformatics team as well as the wet lab team. You will communicate selected results at conferences and other events. There is the opportunity to build a small team through 2022 and beyond.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research on ML models with applications in proteomics workflows, particularly also using more modern deep learning approaches and neural network topologies
